Overview
Why Long Island chooses us for hardwood.

What You Get
The specifics.
European White Oak
The most-requested wood on Long Island. Warm honey to smoky gray with reactive stain. Wide plank, character grade, or select. 25-year finish warranty.
American Walnut
Rich chocolate brown, soft prominent grain. Dramatic in wide plank for dining rooms and living spaces. Stains develop beautifully with age.
Patterns: Herringbone, Chevron, Strip
We cut and install herringbone and chevron patterns in-house — most LI flooring shops sub this out. 15-30% more labor than straight plank but the look is worth it.
Solid vs Engineered
Solid 3/4" is the right call above grade in Nassau/Suffolk's dry climate. Engineered (1/2"-5/8") is the right call over radiant heat, concrete slabs, or below-grade basements.
Our Process
How we do it.
- 1
On-site measure & moisture test
We measure the actual space, check subfloor moisture with a Delmhorst meter, identify any squeaks or rot, and deliver a written quote within 48 hours.
- 2
5-day acclimation
Your hardwood sits in your house — AC on, normal conditions — for 5 days before install. This is an NWFA requirement that 60% of shops skip.
- 3
Install & nail-down or glue-down
Solid hardwood nails down to plywood. Engineered glues or floats over slab. We use pneumatic L-nailers and wood-specific adhesives.
- 4
Trim, shoe, transitions
Quarter-round shoe, custom-stained to match. Reducer strips at doorways. Flush mount to existing thresholds.
- 5
Site-finish vs pre-finish
Pre-finish (factory coated) is the default — cleaner, faster, longer warranty. Site-finish (raw wood, stained + finished on site) is available for custom color matching and historic restoration.
